Fleischman Field Research, one of Bay Area’s largest independent research firms, would like you to participate in paid market research focus groups. Over the twenty-eight years of our existence, we have been hired by many clients to conduct focus group discussion panels on a wide variety of consumer and business topics. These panels serve strictly as opinion forums. Nothing is ever sold, nor will any participant’s name appear on any mailing lists. We are a member of the Better Business Bureau which will confirm our outstanding reputation.

Each discussion panel consists of six to ten participants who share their opinions and ideas with a professional moderator. Refreshments are always served and an honorarium ranging from $75 to $150 and sometimes more, is provided as a token of our appreciation for the person's participation. There are two types of discussion panels we conduct: consumer and medical/professional. Topics in the consumer groups include but are not limited to gourmet food and wine, children’s toys, leisure and vacations, music, home electronics, and new television shows. The medical and professional discussion groups are work-related or treatment related. Topics range from frequent flyer programs and travel accommodations to computer hardware and software, from new medications to surgical procedures.

Fleischman Field Research, Inc. conducts several hundred groups per month in San Francisco and other diverse locations. Consequently, we need new respondents and fresh ideas on a consistent basis. There is room for everyone to participate at one time or another.

PLEASE NOTE: Market Research industry standards preclude research participation more than once every 6 months regardless of which company hosts the discussion.

While traditionally, our focus groups and participation were limited to the San Francisco Bay area, increasingly we are recruiting to many diverse locations around the U.S. However, if you live in the San Francisco Bay area, your participation will be more frequent.

1) What is a Focus Group?

A focus group is roundtable discussion among approximately eight to ten people about a variety of consumer and business topics. Recent topics include gourmet foods and wine, children’s toys, home electronics, computer hardware / software, and health care services. Nothing is ever sold, nor does any participant’s name appear on any mailing lists. Groups generally last 2 hours and participants receive an honorarium ranging from $75-$200 for their time. Focus groups not only give people an opportunity to earn money, but participants genuinely enjoy sharing their opinions as well.

2) How does this work?

After you join our database, you will be contacted periodically regarding upcoming focus groups or interviews. We will contact you via email or phone and ask you a series of questions to determine if you are a good fit for the particular study. If you do not qualify, we will be in touch regarding another study.

3) Where do these studies take place?

The majority of the research takes place at our office in downtown San Francisco. However, we also do in-home/in-office interviews (meaning we will come to your home/office to conduct the interview), at various offsite locations such as our client's offices or a hotel, at a store (also called a shop-a-long) and lastly, online. The online studies might be bullentin board style or may involve you connecting over web conferenicing software provided by our clients.

4) Will my name or information be shared with anyone else or used for any other purpose?

ABSOULTELY NOT. Our database is never shared with any third parties.

5) How often will I qualify and participate?

We strictly follow Marketing Research Industry standards and you may participate no more than once every six months. Also, you will likely not qualify for every study. Our topics vary from technology to food to business services and not everyone is a good fit for every study. Don't take it personally, we will be in touch about other studies.

6) My roommate/friend/spouse/family member is already on the database. Do I still need to join?

No, but it is highly recommended. You will recieve notifications immediately by having your own profile. We contact our database members based on THEIR personal demographics. For example, if we are doing a study on video games and your brother is 25 and we are looking for 18-24 year olds, he will not be contacted for that study. We need YOUR demographics to see if you might be appropriate for a particular study.
